A home is a place where family members live and share their experiences. It is the place where one lives permanently, especially as a member of a family or household.

Different parts of the home and their uses

The home has different parts just the way the body has parts, parts of the home and their uses:

1. Sitting room:

The sitting room is a room in the home where family members gather, receive visitors and relax. Another name for sitting room is living room. We use the sitting room for the following:
(a)Entertaining visitors. (b)Watching television (c)For relaxation

2. Bedroom:


The bedroom is a room where someone can rest and sleep. We use the bedroom for the following:
(a)Sleeping (b)Resting during the day (c)Dressing

3. Bathroom: The bathroom is a place for taking our bath and for general cleanliness of our body. The bathroom is used for: (a)Taking our bath. (b)Brushing our teeth.

4. Toilet: The toilet is a room in the home where we urinate and defecate. Toilet is used for: (a)Urinating (b)Defecating

5. Kitchen:


The kitchen is a room or place for cooking our food and washing our plates. The kitchen is used for the following: (a)Cooking (b)Washing plates. (c)Keeping our foods.

6. Store: Store is a room for storing our raw foods, kitchen utensils and equipment like rake, cutlass and shovel.

7. The dining room: The dinning room is a place where we eat our food.
